Chapter 2: Video Chat

Ever heard of video chat? Of course you have its 2011! Video chat is becoming more and more popular, as companies like Apple beginning to introduce programs like Facetime to handheld devices such as the iPhone 4. But of course not all of us want something that small, and prefer to sit down at the family computer to video call those relatives they've been meaning to chat with for a while. For this, I recommend Skype. A video software thats taken the UK by storm, and is now quite popular here in North America. Skype's new Premium version lets you start a video conference with up to 10 people at a time, or the free traditional version allows you a 2 way call.
Oh ya, did I mention that it's free? You heard me right, the basic version of Skype is free, and the Premium is only 8.99 a month! Of course you can always use basic pre-installed video chat services that come with your PC such as Windows Live Messenger if you for some reason prefer it . . . Chapter 1: Mac or PC

Mac or PC, a.k.a. Macintosh Computer or Personal Computer.
Ever since man created computer, man argued which one is better. Mac by Apple or PC's running Windows by Microsoft.

Macs run software and hardware made by the same company, Apple. And they have the option of running Windows or Linux too. Also because there are less Macs than PC's, they almost never catch a virus. However, they have so many positive features they cost a ridicules amount of money, the basic iMac starting at $1199 American, or Mac mini at 699$ American.

PC's run Windows software by Microsoft and hardware by various companies. This causes more issues with software. They too can run Linux, but don't give the option of installing Mac OSX (operating system X). There are large numbers of PC's too which makes them a bigger target for viruses, making it a necessity for anti-virus software, such as Norton 360. The pre-installed Windows Firewall just isn't enough for an average virus. However the prices are much lower and start on average at 199$ for netbooks, 299$ for notebooks (laptops), and 399$ for desktops. This makes them much more affordable.

What do I prefer? I would like to clarify that I am a PC fan. They are much cheaper and easier to work with, however I am a bigger supporter of Apple as a company, for they have much more polite customer support, and generally just have better products such as iPods, iPhones, or the more recent, iPad. But since I am a PC fan, everything on this blog will be referred to in Windows-talk.

What do you prefer? It's time for you to look into that . . .
